God Saved Me Once to Keep On Saving Me

Salvation Isn't a One-Time Event; It's a Lifelong Rescue

I had a revelation during prayer this morning that stopped me in my tracks. It was about the sheer depth and persistence of God’s faithfulness. I was reflecting on His love in my life, and it hit me with stunning clarity:

God’s first salvation was simply His permission slip to keep saving me.

He didn't just save me once to leave me to figure it out. He saved me first so He could continue to save me, again and again, every single day.

This realization washed over me as I remembered my own beginning. I will never forget the moment God’s reality truly broke through for me. It was a Sunday church service(Flourish nation)—October 29th, 2023, which also happens to be my birth anniversary. I was worshipping in church, and without any warning, I was completely overwhelmed by His Spirit. I began to weep, and I couldn't stop. It was a cry of surrender, of recognition, of pleading for mercy from God whom I have taken for granted.

That was the initial rescue. The moment He grabbed me out of the current and pulled me into the boat.

But looking back from today, September 2nd, 2025, I see that was only the first chapter. The last three years have been a relentless series of rescues. The care He has shown me, the specific and timely ways He has intervened, would not have been possible if He hadn’t first brought me to that point of surrender(2 years ago).

He knew. He knew the battles ahead that I could never foresee. He grabbed me because He knew I needed to be firmly in His grasp to survive what was coming.

I’m not just talking about averting everyday troubles or near-misses (though He does that, too). I’m talking about profound spiritual attacks—assaults that were so intense and targeted that I can scarcely describe them. They were battles in realms seen and unseen; what I can only call "spirit-physical" realities where the conflict is felt tangibly even if it’s not seen with my physical eyes.

In every single one of those moments, God was there. Saving me. Preserving me. Fighting for me.

And that’s the beautiful, breathtaking truth I understood this morning. God’s salvation isn’t a one-time ticket punched at the gates of heaven. It is the ongoing, faithful rescue operation of a loving Father. He brings us into His courts so that He can continually preserve us, right on time, from whatever the future holds.

He saved us once to keep on saving us. And for that, my heart is eternally grateful.
